"A friendly warning to all concerned: One trip to Coorg (Kodagu) and it’ll haunt you for the rest of your life. You might leave Coorg, but Coorg will never leave you. Don’t blame us if you keep returning to it time and again....."

True to the description, Coorg did captivate our senses, enchanting us with its
lush green paddy fields.......

misty peaks......

ice cool waterfalls.......

.......and evergreen forests

The highlight of the trip was an ardous 14 km long trek to the highest peak in the area.
Mr. Nanchappa, our guide, led us through the jungle, showing us tracks left by the rampaging
elephant herds which move across the jungle in search of water. Puffing and panting our
way up, we finally cooled our heels and quenched our thirst at a fresh water stream atop the hill.

The trek across the rocky hills was adventurous to say the least and we had a couple of close
shaves as well.........

.....ooops!! not quite!!!! ;-)

The Tibetan temple made of gold with its intricate paintings and huge statues is a must see for any traveller visiting Coorg.

The overnight trip through the "short cut" suggested by our fellow room mate and well wisher helped us reach our destination in double the time needed otherwise. The pic below was
taken in the middle of a jungle track around 50 km off the highway that connects Bangalore to Coorg.
